U. S. House Candidate Nikki Gronli responds to the proposed cuts to Public
Education in the House's fiscal year 2026 budget, as covered by Dakota News Now. “These draconian cuts to public education put the future of South Dakota’s children on the line. $18 million in cuts to South Dakota’s public education will reduce staffing, increase classroom sizes, and provide fewer programs to our children. In rural areas, you’ll see further consolidation of schools. The Senate bill keeps funding where it is. I hope they have the courage to reject the House bill.”
-Nikki Gronli, US House candidate, Sept. 16, 2025 Attorney General Jackley's comments indicate he doesn't understand that these are cuts that would directly impact South Dakota schools. You can find the budgetary cuts by selecting South Dakota and the school district here.
