Gronli Statement on Venezuelan Attack

Dell Rapids, SD – Today, U.S. House Candidate Nikki Gronli released the following statement on President Donald Trump’s ordered military attack on Venezuela. 

“Maduro is an illegitimate leader, but the actions taken today by the President are illegal. This morning, without authorization from Congress, President Trump attacked Venezuela.

The people of Venezuela deserve American support through strategic actions like sanctions, freezing assets abroad, or excluding Maduro from Western financial institutions. The U.S. should have been collaborating with world partners in various ways to restore Venezuelan democracy. 

Instead, Trump spent American taxpayer dollars and risked U.S. military lives on regime change.

I’m concerned this raid will have ongoing and costly ramifications for America. We don’t know who will step into the power vacuum and what level of chaos we just created.”
